Shopping and Shipping

Do you add me to any mailing lists if I place an order?
Absolutely not. I only use your email address to contact you about your order. I will only add you to my newsletter email list if you ask to be added to it.

Do you accept international (non-USA) orders?
Yes, I accept international (non-USA) orders with payments via PayPal using credit cards or PayPal funds.

Can I get express shipping?
Yes. To get express shipping, just indicate that you'd like Express Mail on the shopping cart.

Where can I find complete order and shipping information?
You can find current information on the terms page.

Do you have a retail store I can visit?
Not at this time. I do not have a retail storefront for two reasons. This enables me to keep prices as low as possible while and still offering great crystals, jewelry and gifts. I do, however, offer a satisfaction guarantee on my jewelry and gifts when you shop online.

How long will it take my order to reach me?
Most orders are shipped out of here within 3 business days (Monday through Friday only). As noted on some pages, there are items that take longer periods to ship because I have to make them or they are special orders, and when orders contain these items, they will be shipped all together. Most items are shipped Priority Mail, so they will normally take 2-4 days after being shipped. Thus, most USA orders will be received within a 6 to 10 business days.

Is it safe to by from your site?
Yes. I have implemented security measures, services, and security for computers and software as well as online to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information. Our shopping cart is served by CartServer/Americart, which is Verisign Secured with industry standard SSL security, and all other services which handle your credit card information such as AuthorizeNet, or PayPal, are similarly protected. The shopping cart is also Hacker Safe tested daily. All are PCI DSS compliant which is the security standard required by MasterCard and Visa. I pay a good deal to have secure services in order for you credit card information ro remain as safe as possible. Robyn A Harton Creative does not store any credit card information at all, to be sure that it cannot be mishandled in any way at our offices, even by accident! I review regularly to ensure any and all payment processors used are secured by the same high standards of information security.

Jewelry

Do you really make all this jewelry yourself?
I make almost all of it myself, using simple hand tools and tumble or hand polishing. Beth and Chuck also make some of the handmade jewelry. Whenever I have an item, like the "Power Nuggets" Chip Bead Bracelets and Necklaces that I buy premade, I note it in the item descriptions.

Do you send information about the Metaphysical and Healing Properties lore with the jewelry?
I am working to get metaphysical and healing properties lore information prepared to send out with every piece, and have many that are done already and sent. Until all are done, you're welcome to print out the metaphysical and healing properties lore from the jewelry page.

Can you teach me to make jewelry like that?
Currently I'm not teaching any jewelry classes. I do, however, have a lot of free information on jewelry making and a jewelry making blog that might help you in your creating quest.

What is "14 Karat Gold Filled" Is it something filled with gold?
14 karat gold filled is NOT something filled with gold. It is gold filled with something. 14 karat gold filled is where heat and pressure is used to bond a layer of not less than 1/20th by weight of 14 karat gold to a core of base metal. Why don't you regularly carry gold jewelry any more?
Plain and simple, the reason is money. When the price of precious metals skyrocketed, I had to make a choice of what metals to keep in stock. Because sterling silver is both a favorite of mine and much less expensive, I chose to continue carrying my regular jewelry in sterling only. When possible, I'm happy to make similar pieces in 14 karat gold filled, for you, even though I don't regularly carry it at this point.

How do I care for my handmade jewelry?
Most of my handmade jewelry can be cleaned with a jewelry polishing cloth. Also, storing your sterling silver jewelry in an airtight container (such as a zip bag) can help retard tarnishing. See my jewelry care page for additional information.

Crystals and Stones

Why do you have this "For educational, inspiration and entertainment" disclaimer about the healing properties stuff all over the place?
I do that because I don't want anyone to be confused or misguided. I don't want anyone to buy any stone or jewelry with the idea that it will definitely cure their disease or other ailment, when healing lore is traditional and anecdotal rather than scientific fact. I really DO recommend that you see your doctor or other healthcare practitioner for all injuries or illness. I would be crushed if someone bought one of my stones expecting it to cure something and then ignored or didn't seek professional healthcare advice. I want you to be well whether or not you buy any of the stones I offer.

Where do the crystals and stones you use in your jewelry come from?
The crystals and stones I carry come from various places around the world such as USA, Brazil, India, South Africa, China and others. When I know for sure where a stone comes from I will try to say so in the text about that stone.

Where did you get the metaphysical lore of stones information?
Some information has been gleaned from studying books on crystals and stones over the years. Other information comes from working with and collecting stones for years. Still more information comes from people I have studied with over the years who have taught me about stone lore. I have to thank Melody for her Love is in the Earth series of books for giving me my first and possibly best book references, Larry Hargrave for teaching me so much about stones, and Bob Vaughn for teaching me a ton about laying on of stones. I also owe many thanks to the many other authors and people on the internet who have shared their crystal wisdom.

Do you believe in healing properties of stones?
My experience, while anecdotal, has been that the healing properties of stones appears to make a difference in healing. I can't swear, though, that the stones actually had anything to do with it, because I simply don't know everything. I've seen stones appear to help and not appear to help. But I've also seen antibiotics appear to help and not appear to help. I try to simply observe rather than make judgments about it all. I share all metaphysical and healing information for entertainment, reference, and inspiration purposes only, since I can't prove anything about it one way or another. Always see your doctor or other health care practitioner for illness and injury. Seriously. Crystal healing, is in my opinion, a complementary or adjunct healing method. Don't just apply a rock and expect it to heal you -- get help from a professional.
