Feral Heart is a striking handmade pendant necklace. It speaks of the wildness of the heart and how beauty can be wild and vice versa.
I made the heart pendant using a handmade lampwork bead by Glass Buffalo, along with beads of seraphinite, iolite, natural blue agate, apatite, fluorite, morganite, and wire of anti-tarnish .925 sterling Argentium® silver and .999 fine silver. The chainmaille chain I made of .925 Argentium® sterling silver and a sterling silver Israeli fancy clasp.
Because I used the Argentium® sterling and fine silver, this pendant necklace is highly tarnish resistant. Argentium® is a special alloy of genuine .925 sterling silver that has anti-tarnish properties. Fine silver is tarnish-resistant in itself. It is too soft for many jewelry applications, but the malleability makes it perfect for the coiling used in the heart on this piece. With only minimal care, this piece will seldom need tarnish removal and will only need an occasional touch up with a polishing cloth to keep its polish.
The pendant on this necklace is approximately 2.4" (61 mm) long, and the length of the necklace is approximately 18" long. I'll be happy to shorten the chain for you upon request at no charge or lengthen it for you for a minimal charge.
In alignment with the mystical lore associated with the stones, I crafted this piece with the prayer and intent that the wearer be blessed with angelic protection of the heart.
