Opals are usually set in jewelry as doublets or triples. In other words, they have backings or coverings. This gorgeous opal is all natural, though, with no backing or covering. The setting I've made for it is both beautiful and functional for protecting the stone.
Recherche is a gorgeous pendant / slide that I handcrafted from a natural opal
cabochon, and .925 Sterling Silver wire. The pendant is approximately 2.2" (56 mm) long with a bail that will accommodate chains up to approximately 6 mm in size.
In alignment with the mystical lore associated with the stones, I crafted this piece with the prayer and intent that the wearer be blessed with inspiration.
