This heirloom chain rosary was made in the tradition of rosaries. Rosaries originally got their name from the rose beads that monks used for them. Harkening back to that tradition, I made the rose beads in this rosary myself from ground rose petals! I added genuine Bethlehem olivewood beads for Our Father beads, as a connection to the Holy Land. The non-tarnishing metal crucifix contains the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in one spiritual triumvitate. And the metal rosary centerpiece shows a dove, symbol of the Holy Spirit, on one side, and the Holy Family on the reverse.
It takes about 3 weeks to prepare the rose beads, even when starting with dried rose petals. I ground the rose petals and added organic binders, rose otto essential oil, and natural beeswax. I hand rolled each bead individually, giving each one a distinctive handcrafted look. Then I dried the beads for a couple of weeks, sanded the bead holes and beads as needed, then set them in with additional rose otto essential oil. Then I was finally able to string the rosary itself using fine silver wire, all hand twisted for the links of the rosary, and Argentium® sterling silver chain. I even did the Argentium® mini chain maille links myself in a rose pattern.
As with all handmade rose beads, just like the monks had in history, they are not water repellant. The beeswax used in their creation help them be more water-resistant, but if you get them soaked, they will disintegrate. In normal use, for saying the Rosary they can last for several generations. Please care for them as you would any heirloom jewelry.

Metaphysical, Mystical, & Spiritual Healing Properties Lore:
Rose beads, made from ground rose petals, are the traditional materials of the Christian Rosary. Roses are symbols of love, virtue, purity, the Virgin Mary, and maternal grace.
Bethlehem Olivewood beads are handmade from the wood of olive trees in and near Bethlehem that is leftover from pruning the trees. No trees are harmed to make these lovely beads, only pruned to help them produce more olves. As these olivewood beads are from Bethlehem, they are mysitcally related to peacefulness, joy, salvation, and depth of belief. Using these beads for meditation or prayer can enhance the depth and power of those meditations or prayers.
Silver is a mineral that is said to mirror the soul, strengthen the
connection between astral and physical bodies, and enhance intuitive and psychic
energies. Silver is mystically considered to improve speech, bring eloquence. It is also purported to attract, enhance
and store the energies of gemstones, as well as draw out negative energies. Silver
is related to the moon, and moon energies. Physically, crystal healing lore indicates that silver is has been traditionally used to aid
heptatitis treatments, eliminate toxins, expel toxins through the pores, headache,
rheumatic pain, nausea and gastritis, obesity, diabetes, and increase assimilation
