About Me, Sanjee

I'm a CAT, if you can't tell. I'm a Domestic Short Hair. That means I come from the USA and I don't have really long fur. From a distance I look black, but up close you can tell I have real dark brown and black stripes, so I'm really a tabby. I have a white ascot (some folks call it a bib) at my throat, a white patch on my chest, and a white patch on my tummy. I also have one white toe on my back right foot. I am ADORABLE! (Just ask my mommy, that's her in the picture.)

I was born behind a building around August 1, 2001, and I had 5 brothers and sisters. My mom cat was feral. She wouldn't let the people at the building catch her. The people snuck up and took me and 4 of my siblings away one day, though. Thank goodness I wasn't drinking milk all the time any more. I missed my mom cat, but the people were really nice and I had my brothers with me. They fed us cow milk and kitten chow. The cow milk tasted yummy, but it made my tummy act funny. We only stayed with those people for 3 days though.

On the third day, a lady came over to the people's house. I'm always curious, so I stuck my head up and sniffed her hand and tried to climb up it. The lady said, "This is my cat friend. She's coming home with me." I guess she liked me. :) So she took me home and promised to take good care of me and be my mommy.

Mommy named me Sanjee, and I thought that was cool. People always ask how I got that name. Mommy says she was gonna name me Sangeeta, and that means "musical" in Sanskrit. Mommy wasn't sure at first if I was a boy or a girl, though, so she changed the name a little bit to Sanjee. I'm a girl, so I could have been a Sangeeta, but I like Sanjee better.

Now I live with mommy and grandma. I sleep with mommy at night and when it's chilly I get under the covers with her. I like to play with grandma. She's fun and is always doing stuff, so I like to follow her around. Grandma took this picture of me on my favorite chair. I like the lamp over the chair. It's all warm and comfy. It's almost as good a place to sleep as on top of mommy. Mommy's warm and comfy too. I also have a neato hammock in the window so I can watch stuff. I like to watch the bird and the leaves and the lady next door who rakes all the time.
